Project note from Ilya
This project had a tight and non-negotiable deadline - we had to launch a high-load website quickly to host Bauman University’s Open Day online during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an intense, focused effort, working in “submarine mode” side by side with developers. Despite the pressure, we managed to deliver a smooth, scalable experience just in time for the event

Quick collaborative research and UX

Given the tight timeline, tigether we quickly audited existing university open day platforms to identify best practices and critical features. I conducted a focused competitor analysis to understand what kind of structure, content, and user flows work best for prospective students and their families.
Based on the findings, I defined the key user scenarios: watch livestreams, explore departments, and access application info - all in a clear and mobile-friendly format. I structured the information architecture accordingly, simplifying navigation and minimizing cognitive load.
The UX strategy was tailored to help applicants easily find their path, even under the pressure of live event timing.

Website

Since all components were initially designed to be responsive, we were able to build the mobile version using the same system. During production, we applied quick adaptivity fixes in real-time, essentially a “hot fix” session. To ensure smooth functionality across all screen sizes under the tight launch deadline.
